Original artwork was commissioned by the Jefferson County Library for the Golden branch.

Framed and matted reproduction lithograph titled, Golden City by Alfred Edward Mathews. Print depicts three individuals standing on a high point west of town looking over the Clear Creek Valley north and east toward Denver. A number of structures and two bridges are laid out north and south of Clear Creek with North and South Table Mountains in the upper third of the print. Printing on the bottom of the print says: Lith. by J. Bien, N. Y. Entered according to Act of Congress, in the year 1866, by A. E. One color postcard of three women standing or sitting on Wild Cat Point which is located on Lookout Mountain near Golden, Colorado. Downtown Golden can be seen at the base of North Table Mountain and South Table Mountain. Written on the back: Golden from Wild Cat Point. Colonial Cody refers to the gateway between the table mountains shown in the picture in his autobiography. In 1859 he caught the gold fever, came to Auraria, (afterwards Denver), passed through the Golden gate to Blackhawk. His reference is, "On arriving at Auraria we pushed on to the gold streams on the mountains, passing up through the golden Gate and over Guy Hill, thence on to Blackhawk." P. 61
