Title Overland Hotel
Date c. 1900
Description Black and white photograph of the Overland Hotel with several men standing in front of the hotel. The hotel is in the process of demolition, there are several holes in the building on the second floor. All of the windows and the doors are missing on the front of the building. Small sign on the front of the building "Sing Lee Laundry". Small brick building on the right along with another small building on the left. Written on the bottom: Old Overland Hotel about 1900. Written on the top right corner: 872. The Overland Hotel was the scene of the 1868 Ed Franklin shootout, who was killed by Sheriff Keith. Franklin died in the same room as Edward Berthoud, the top right window. In later years Eakers Department Store would be located in the same location.
