Title U.S. Marine Corp Memorial dedication

Description Black and white press photograph of the dedication of the U.S. Marine Corps Memorial at the intersection of U.S. 6-40 near Golden. On the right, General Louis H. Wilson Jr., commandant of the Marine Corps, is unveiling a plaque and time capsule containing letters from former President Gerald Ford and congressmen, and Marine mementos. The memorial took three years in the planning and execution and is the only national USMC marker outside Arlington, VA. Cyrus (Bo) Bowers, a Golden businessman, and reserve Marine staff sergeant was the driving force behind the memorial.
