Object Name Patch, Law Enforcement
Description 2 1/2" x 4" uniform blouse shoulder patch worn by members of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department. The patch resembles the one worn by members since 1970 except that the round ball at the bottom representing a gold nugget was replaced by the abbreviation "COLO." This change allowed the patch to represent the Sherif's Department in Golden, Colorado against the sixteen other Jefferson County Sheriff's Department's in the nation. Harold E. Bray was the Sheriff in office at the time of the patch's modification.
