Type documentation card created by Golden Pioneer Museum staff in 1954, documenting the provenance of the parrot wood carving donated to the Museum in 1938 by Amos Snodgrass. The provenance information was typed on the back of an original Pioneer Museum donor information card. The provenance information reads: "13. Bird in Cage / This wood carving is in one piece, made from a tie that once laid on a bridge which crossed Kinney Run on Jackson St. At 17th St. in Golden. This was the bridge where 'Seminole' and Woodruff were hanged in 1879 for murdering a Mr. Hayward, an honorable and good citizen and ranchman once living on Lookout Mountain. / Donated by Amos Snodgrass / (See newspaper story on 'Bomb Scare')" Information typed on the reverse of this card has been crossed out with a pencil "X." The reused card had documented a collection of admission cards to the University of Colorado dated 1908-1910, that belonged to Gov. John C. Vivian. |
