Scrabpook: a white vinyl three ring notebook containing copies of newspaper articles, photos and copies of correspondence relating to Golden attorney Carl Eiberger with a particular emphasis on Mr. Eiberger's efforts to preserve South Table Mountain, the "Gateway to the Rockies", from becoming a quarry mine. He provided pro-bono legal work, starting with the Coalition of Citizens to Preserve South Table Mountain, and fought/won all 98-public hearings/appeals from 1975-1998. Carl also helped with the legalities of purchasing the acres of land for Jeffco Open Space. Carl continued his pro-bono work into 1998 and was senior counsel to Save the Mesas. Carl again, with his tireless stewardship, gave to preserve South Table Mountain against the commercial development for Nike. Mr. Eiberger's role in this preservation effort was honored with a plaque at an overlook on the eastern edge of South Table Mountain. The location is now known as Carl's Point. The plaque contains a QR code that links with a short video with a biography and information about Carl Eiberger. |
