In 1859, Rev. Adriance was charged by Methodist Church authorities as pastor and preacher to in the Colorado Territory, with a region that included Denver, Auraria, Golden City, Arapahoe, Boulder City, Gold Hill and Twelve Mile Diggings. He was appointed by the Kansas and Nebraska Conference at Fort Leavenworth, KS to Golden City and Boulder at their session of March 15, 1860. He and his wife Fannie A. Rogers Adriance arrived in Golden City on July 9, 1860, where services were often held in their cabin home. In 1861 and later, Adriance and his family moved to other parts of Colorado and the territories, to continue their ministry. |
