Interred in Crown Hill Cemetery, Wheat Ridge, Colorado. NOTE: name on headstone is "Jonas Everet Wanamaker" Originally bought 400 acres on Clear Creek and built one of the first homes in the Clear Creek Valley. Also, first to file an irrigation claim in the valley (Wannemaker Ditch), which sparked the begining of irrigation systems in Colorado. Reported to have built the first brick farmhouse in Jefferson County. "Colorado Transcript" October 26, 1898. Democrat |
