Eight Mile House was an important stage stop on the Golden Gate Canyon road, which served as the main route to Central City and Black Hawk, CO. From roughly 1899 to 1950 it was home to Henry and Matilda Ramstetter. Originally built around 1860, it was torn down during the 1960s. |
