Golden newspaper that operated from 1873-1919. The newspaper was originally called Howe & Dorsey for three months after it was formed by Edward W. Howe and William Dorsey in March of 1872 (?). Howe bought out Dorsey and ran it until 1874, when W.G. Smith purchased 50%. A.J. Howe then bought his brother's share. In 1877, Smith controlled the whole business until 1890 when he sold the paper to Clarence H. Pease. Pease then sold the paper in 1892. |
