Details |
Established in 1913 by Wiliam Woods and Charles Sanders in the rear of the Loveland block at 1122 Washington Ave. in Golden. Woods and Sanders absorded the business of John Lofton Davidson and moved into the Smith block at 1100 Washington Ave. in 1915. The business continued as the primary establishment of its kind in Golden, through Woods' acquisition from his partner, his own passing in 1931 and takeover by Oyer A. Saunders, to his taking over the neighboring Taft Building in 1937 and joining together their storefronts, and far beyond. In the 2000s it was purchased by the Olinger empire and renamed the Olinger Woods Chapel. After over 100 years, the business closed June 30, 2017, to consolidate with another Olinger location at Crown Hill. |
