Description |
Black and white portrait of Albert Edward "Burt" "Bronco" "Cowboy Jones" Jones when he was a pitcher for the St. Louis baseball team in 1900. He is wearing a dark colored three piece suit with a dark colored tie and a pin on his lapel. Written on the back: played baseball in Colorado State League and Semi-Pro baseball the 1890's, in Denver and Pueblo; former Denver player Patsy Tebeau was his manager with Cleveland and St. Louis; was a member of the Cleveland Spiders National League team that relocated to St. Louis and became the Cardinals in 1899; was a teammate with Hall of Famers Cy Young and Jesse Burkett; returned to Colorado after retiring from baseball; and was the Mayor of Golden, Colorado. A listing of Jones' statistics is printed on the back, these include the years 1898-1901. |
