Cabinet card studio portrait of Captain George West and Lt. Joseph L. Boyd. At base of image on front is "2nd Colo. Cavalry." On back is handwritten in pencil, "Capt. Geo. West and Lt. Jos. L. Boyd, 2d Colorado Volunteers from a tintype taken in 1862." Below is adhered a typed label reading "Capt. George West and Lt. Joseph L. Boyd, 2nd Coorado Volunteers in the Civil War. They were related by marriage. Lt. Boyd's sister was Mrs. George West. Lt. Boyd was a deputy sheriff in Jefferson county for a long period in the late 1860 and 1870s." |
