Description |
Black and white photograph of interior view of a bar in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania. A bartender stands behind the bar while two customers are leaning against the front of the bar at far right. On back is handwritten, "This solid cherry bar was in use in Pittsburg in 1884." and in a different handwriting, "Bar moved to 1119 Washington Av. 1975." The bar in this photo was the replacement for the original bar in Dud's Cafe in Golden. Dud purchased this back bar in Pennsylvania to replace the bar that was stolen from his cafe, along with all the other furnishings, in the early 1970s. This bar still exists in Golden. As of 2020 it was reinstalled inside the mezzanine bar at the Buffalo Rose Events Center. |
Provenance |
Dud's Cafe was the former Larson's Cafe, which DeVere Joseph "Dud" Young opened in 1945. He changed the name to Dud's Cafe in 1950. |
