Description |
Black and white photograph of a horse drawn trailer float from Duvall-Davison Lumber Co. for the Golden Days Parade in Golden, CO. Banner on the side of the trialer says Duvall-Davison Lumber Co. Yesterday. A model cabin made out of slabs sits on the flatbead. Animal skins and a deer mount hang on the outside. Surrounding the cabin are pine boughs, a cooking tripod and a dog. Mr. Duvall's granddaughters are inside the cabin looking out a small window on the side. Two men are in front of the cabin holding rifles. The man sitting is Richard Werber, lumber yard employee. The wagon is parked in front of a roadside billboard from Komac Pure Paint. |
Provenance |
Donor worked for Duvall-Davison for fifteen years (1929-1944) until he was drafted for WWII. Donor initially made $18/week working at the Evergreen location, and then transferred back to Golden after getting married. In Golden he earned $24/weekly. Donor's brother, Richard Werber, also worked for Duvall-Davison. |
