Black and white photograph of Captain Robert Berke of the Jefferson County, Colorado Sheriff's Department. The photograph depicts Berke reading a fingerprint card in the Records Section of the Sheriff's Deparment located at 16th and Arapahoe Street in Golden. Above his left shoulder are wanted posters, in particular, a Ten Most Wanted Poster of two counter culture fugitives of the time: Catherine Ann Power and Melvin Luther Cox. |

Berke joined the Sheriff's Department in 1958 as a patrolman, promoted to Sergeant in 1960, participated in the crime spree of Kostal and Watson in 1959 and the Coors kidnapping and murder investigation in 1960. |
