Black and white exterior view of a two-story log cabin structure with balcony. A large and prominent sign across the front of the building says Boston Company. Another smaller sign hanging above says Job Printing. Many people, horses, and several wagons are assembled in front of the building. About a dozen people are posing on the second floor balcony. Boston Company in Golden. Castle Rock is visible in the upper right hand corner. Considered to be the first permenant building in Golden. It was built under the direction of George West. The building housed Golden's first newspaper, the Western Mountaineer and the first post office. Members of the Boston Company included, Jas McDonald, George West, L, Pinton, M. L. Blunt, J. McIntyre, J. M. Bird, and Walter Pollard. The building was torn down in 1927 and the logs taken to Pleasant View for a barber shop. |
