Provenance |
These t-shirts were made and worn by members of the Mount Lookout Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), who in 2008 were under contract with the City of Golden to manage the Golden Pioneer Museum. Members of the DAR wore these t-shirts as a sign of solidarity and support when their museum management contract was up for renewal. Ultimately the DAR would not receive a new contract and an ugly and lengthy legal battle ensued. DAR members were seen wearing these t-shirts at the Golden City Council meeting when council made their final decision to grant a new museum management contact to another organization, Golden History Museums. |
