Miniature Folger Adam Steel jail key, the type and manufacturer of jail keys in the United States, that was made into a 4" long brass key to commemorate the opening of the Jefferson County Jail in 1986. Regular sized Folger Adam jail keys were made to operate the locks in the 1986 Jefferson County Jail. One hundred of these replica keys were made, forged and stamped in a Golden manufacturing plant at 44th and McIntyre Streets. On the opposite side of this replica key was a stamped image of the 1986 Jefferson County Sheriff's Complex. Harold E. Bray was the Sheriff who authorized the replica key, and Lieutenants Dennis L. Potter and Robert Deutsch designed the key. |
