Description |
Pink satin flag with applique of "Golden" in center above a large gold pan. Gold pan contains gold nuggets, Castle Rock and Mount Zion with "M", the emblem for the Colorado School of Mines. Three brass grommets at edge. Possibly the flag created by Girl Scout troops of Golden for Golden Centennial celebrations. More details in the Colorado Transcript June 11, 1959, page 8. According to the article, Hal Shelton designed the banner based on design ideas presented by Golden Girl Scouts. "Girl Scout troops of Golden created this flag as their contribution to Golden's Centennial which they propose to be adopted as Golden's official flag. " |
