Description |
4" long brass commemorative jail key created for the grand opening of the Jefferson County Sheriff's Complex in Golden, Colorado in 1986. The key is fashioned after the standard "Folger Adams" or "Southern Steel" jail key used in all Jefferson County Jails since 1876. The words "Jefferson County Sheriff's Department" are etched in the ring, with the dates "1859-1876" etched in the key commemorating the history of the Department to date. Also etched into the key is the architectural rendering of the Sheriff's Complex. There were 250 keys made by a Golden Foundry and given to citizens who attended the grand opening ceremonies for the Sheriff's Complex. The key design was done by then Jefferson County Sheriff's Lieutenants Dennis L. Potter and Robert Deutsch. |
