Description |
Simplex E-7 35 mm movie projector made by ICP (International Projector Corporation), SH 1000 sound head, Peerless carbon arc lamphouse and pedestal once used at the Golden Theatre. Projector # 1; original projection room originally house two identical units, which were marked accordingly. Serial number: E7990 The Simplex E-7 is a 35mm projector in the Simplex line of projectors. It was introduced in 1938 and ceased production in the early 1950s, shortly after the introduction of the Simplex X-L in 1949. One of the key improvements over the earlier Simplex models was a one-shot oiling system that replaced the many oil points required on the older designs. The E-7 is known as a robust mechanism with excellent image stability. |

Used at the Golden Theatre and then displayed inside Steve's Corner, owned by Steve and Carol Steinhoff, who purchased the movie theater building in 1974. Later the Nowlen family purchased the business and building, and removed all of the movie projection equipment from the building when they sold it c. 1999. The Nowlen family stored the equipment in Arvada until it was rediscovered by the museum curator who negotiated its donation in 2021. |
