Description |
Print, pencil, ink, and wash on paper. Rectangular sketch set in a frame. View is of a brick three story structure with a flag at top in three-quarter view. Building is fronted by a road upon which a man and two dogs are seen at center, and a couple walking at left foreground. Alongside building are small trees, and in background is Castle Rock and South Table Mountain. Below image is written "Court-House, Golden-City, Colorado / A. Lakes, 1882." Sketch is signed in lower right corner. Framed piece is backed by brown craft paper, and is stamped in lower left corner "Golden DAR Pioneer Museum" with the number "242" written below, presumably a negative number. |
