Hand crocheted dress made by Helen Park Anderson. Mrs. Anderson hand crafted many dresses for her college-aged daughters, Evelyn Anderson and Annabelle Anderson. The girls attended Colorado Agricultural College (now known as Colorado State University) in the late 1920s and 1930s. The dress is hand crocheted with cream crochet thread; it has a solid double-crochet stitch collar. The dress is short sleeved, calf-length, and crocheted with a repeated shell stitch. The hem of the sleeves and skirt are closed with two rows of a double-crochet stitch. The skirt and top were crocheted in two separate sections and the skirt is handstitched to the top. |
