Description |
World War I Victory Medal belonging to William Sauter. Bronze medal featuring an image of Winged Victory on one side and the inscription "The Great War for Civilization" on the reverse, and including the names of allied countries in the War. Medal is suspended from a multicolored silk ribbon, which hold two brass clasps. The top clasp is a battle clasp, reading " Meuse-Argonne" and the lower clasp reads " Defensive Sector." Medal is housed in a small cardboard box with "Meuse-Argonne" stamped on the top and "Aug 27 1920" stamped on the edge. |
