In the 1926 Golden High School yearbook "The Gold Pan," a photo of Duvall was captioned by a paragraph about the Golden High School annual award to high-achieving senior girls and boys, the Duvall watch and the Coors watch. The paragraph reads "Two public spirited citizens of Golden have done much to reward scholarship. For several years the members of the Senior class of Golden High School have had a goal other than grades on their report cards. Every year Mr. W. G. Duvall presents a watch to the girl in the senior class who has made the best record in her work. Mr. Adolph Coors, Sr., gives one to the boy who leads the senior class. For their interest in our school, for the added incentive toward better standards in scholarship, the students of Golden High School take this opportunity to extend to Mr. Coors and Mr. Duvall their gratitude and thanks." |
