Incorporated on April 19, 1968, Foothills Art Center is located in what was the old First Presbyterian Church of Golden at 809 Fifteenth Street. A grand opening was held on August 3, 1968. *** Foothills Art Center. The First Presbyterian Church of Golden was dedicated on June 16, 1872, and the Manse was added in 1892. The original building, a very plain structure, was remodeled in 1898 with a bell tower and north wing added. AFter the congregation built on South Golden Road in 1958, the Jefferson Unitarian Church used the church building. The Foothills Art Committee purchased this property in 1968 and it has showcased their exhibitions since that time. |
