Built by local settlers from about 1874-1876 in Golden Gate Canyon. It was originally built when the area served as a gateway to the mines of Central City. According to Vina Ramstetter, who first taught at Guy Hill School in 1909, the school was named for a Mr. Guy, a Frenchman who ranched in the area. The school operated unitl 1951, at which time area students were educated in Golden. The school has been moved several times. Today it sits inside Clear Creek History Park in Golden. |
